Disney Dreamlight Valley: Where to Get Ginger

how to get ginger dreamlight valley

One cooking ingredient Dreamers might need during their journey in Disney Dreamlight Valley is Ginger, a root that serves well as a medicinal and flavorful spice. To make recipes such as Steamed Fugu, Teriyaki Salmon, or Pumpkin Soup, players will need to find this spice root in the Valley. However, the biomes of the world are so packed with resources that it can be hard to pinpoint where exactly Ginger can be found. Some materials and items can be found across multiple areas, while some are exclusive to a single zone. As for Ginger, Dreamers can get this cooking ingredient from only one location in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Ginger Location In Disney Dreamlight Valley

To get Ginger in Disney Dreamlight Valley, Dreamers must gain access to the Forgotten Lands, a dark and unwelcoming biome that is, nevertheless, full of useful resources for crafting and gameplay progression. This area can be found on the northwestern side of the Valley’s world map.

According to Sportskeeda, Disney Dreamlight Valley fans can unlock the Forgotten Lands by giving Merlin 15,000 Dreamlight, a massive investment of progression currency. Furthermore, it is important to note that the Forgotten Lands can only be accessed via the Sunlit Plateau when entering the biome for the first time. The Sunlit Plateau costs 7,000 Dreamlight to unlock, meaning that players can only reach the location of Ginger nodes in Disney Dreamlight Valley once they’ve spent 22,000 total Dreamlight. Such an amount can be quite daunting, but players will eventually earn this sum as they progress through the various main and Friendship questlines of the game.

To get Dreamlight quickly, players must complete the tasks and milestones available in the “Dreamlight” tab accessed via the pause menu. Doing activities such as foraging mushrooms, feeding critters, or cooking a 4-Star meal will net fans with several hundred Dreamlight. Naturally, getting to 22,000 Dreamlight will take several hours, but it is doable in time. After finally arriving in the Forgotten Lands, Disney Dreamlight Valley fans can find Ginger by searching the forest floor for tall, green stalk-like stems sticking up from the soil. The recognizable “ginger shape” will only be visible as an icon once the ingredient has been picked up. Thanks to research provided by Gamespot, here’s a list of recipes that players can make with Ginger:

  • Maguro Sushi
  • Mushu’s Congee
  • Steamed Fugu
  • Teriyaki Salmon
  • Pumpkin Soup
