Health Screenings
The following health screenings are available at the SCHD’s clinical services site (2716 W. Central) and some at the mobile clinic sites.

- Blood Lead
- Blood Pressure
- Blood Sugar (finger stick)
- Cholesterol/Lipoprotein
- Height/Weight/BMI
- Pregnancy
- STI/HIV Testing and Care – Parental consent is NOT necessary to be tested or treated for an STI. An appointment is necessary: call 660-7300 to schedule an appointment. The Sedgwick Health Department offers confidential testing and treatment of the following STIs:
- Chlamydia
- Gonorrhea
- HIV/AIDS
- Syphilis
- Yeast Infections
- Vaginal Infections
- Genital Warts
- Herpes – culture test when applicable; no blood test
Tuberculosis Testing
You should get tested for tuberculosis if:
- You have spent time with a person known to have active TB disease or suspected to have active TB disease.
- You have HIV infection or another condition that puts you at high risk for active TB disease
- You think you might have active TB disease
- You are from a country where active TB disease is very common (most countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and Russia)
- You live somewhere in the United States where active TB disease is more common, such as a homeless shelter, migrant farm camp, prison or jail, and some nursing homes
- You inject illegal drugs.

Tuberculosis Testing Information
Unless you have been contacted by the TB Control Program clinic to receive testing, TB skin and blood testing for employment, etc., is available at the Sedgwick County Health Department Main Clinic on West Central. Clinic hours, location and contact information are listed below.
Appointments Only
- TB skin test:
- Monday-Wednesdays: 8am-4:30pm
- No TB skin test on Thursdays
- Fridays: 8am-4pm
- Quantiferon test (TB Blood test):
- Monday-Wednesdays: 8am-4pm

If you are experiencing any symptoms of tuberculosis, please contact your local primary care physician or visit your local immediate care or ER. If you have had a recent positive TB test or Quantiferon blood test, please contact the Tuberculosis Control Program Clinic on East 9th Street at 316-660-7450 to schedule an appointment for further evaluation. Clinic hours, address and contact information are listed below.
- Monday-Wednesday, Friday – 8 am-5 pm (closed noon-1 p.m. for lunch)
- Thursday – 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. (Walk-ins accepted during these hours without a previous appointment)

Cancer Screenings
- Pap smears and pelvic exams by appointment – A yearly Pap test to detect precancerous, abnormal changes in the cervix is the most effective tool women have to help protect themselves from cervical cancer.
- Breast self-awareness and testicular self-examination education
- Free breast and cervical cancer screenings available to women who meet program guidelines. Read the guidelines for eligibility here.
- Referrals for free mammography for women meeting program guidelines – ask about this when you schedule a screening
