John “Jack” Edward Lynch, born May 20, 1946, died peacefully with his beloved family by his side on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, in Bridgeport, CT. He was a warrior in his battle with cancer, fortunate to have stayed ahead of it for decades. He cherished life; he lived it ambitiously, and with intention, always in service to others, for 76 years. Being a patriarch was his great pride and joy, and he loved nothing more than family time in any shape or form. But in no way did the reserve dry up there! His legacy is profound in terms of the thousands of lives he positively impacted over the course of his career spanning fifty years as an educator and administrator in Bridgeport, Newtown, Fairfield, and Stratford Public Schools. He retired and had a big celebration…but he couldn’t stay away. He ended his career as the Principal at Saint James in Stratford, a 7-year role he cherished. Mr. Lynch, you’re going down in history as one of the most loved school principals to walk the halls, ever.
Jack was pre-deceased by his mother, Eileen (Mulvoy) Lynch, and father, John J. Lynch. He is survived by so much love it’s blazing bright from: his former wife, Patty Cardone Lynch, his children; Jack M. (Nell) Lynch, Kate (Dave) Lynch Schneider, Matthew (Loren Ambrose) Lynch, and Megan (Joe) Lynch Patzelt, his grandchildren; Jack F., Brady, Mary, Ellie, Charlie, Joey and Mae; sister, Eileen Lynch O’Connor, nephew Tim (Kim) O’Connor; nephews who he treated like sons; Keith and Scott Morrison, and many more Lynch and Cardone family members.
