This simple lemonade recipe is part of a detox recipe series created by Inspired Health Group’s Dietitian Nutritionist. It can be easily made ahead of time before a busy week or weekend to keep you refreshed. Suggested serving size is 8oz daily. - ½ gallon filtered water
- 1 large knob of fresh ginger about 3 inches
- 1 cups chopped fresh turmeric root or 1/8 cup ground turmeric
- 1 tsp whole peppercorns
- ¼ cup pure maple syrup or raw honey
- 2 cups fresh lemon juice about 10 lemons
Directions
In a large pot, bring water, ginger, turmeric, and peppercorns to a boil and cook for about 15 minutes.
Turn off heat and let steep for another 30 minutes as liquid cools slightly.

Strain into a large pitcher or other storage container, discard solids.
While liquid is still slightly warm, add maple syrup and stir to dissolve.
When cooled, add lemon juice and refrigerate before serving. If the drink tastes too strong, add more water to taste. Drink 8 oz daily.
