I do have a few tips, since the dust is a major drawback with these, and I tend to drop them on the floor all the time. No matter how clean the carpet, they collect dust like nothing else.
Most of the time, I rinse mine under the bathroom tap. No soap, just water. If the dust is not too stuck to the silicone, running water is usually force enough to remove the dust. The trick to this is that you do not dry them with a towel or tissue, because that will just add more dust and fibres, leaving you right back where you started. I put mine in a container with a hole in it and leave it to air dry-specifically, these blender sponge cases I got from K-Mart. Any small container with a few small holes in the bottom will work, though-a clean plastic fruit cup container with a few holes punched in the bottom and foil taped over the lid should work just as well.

(My local K-Mart is now clearancing those cases out for seventy cents for a set of two. I’ve picked up a whole heap for current and future stim toy storage, since they’re great for housing Tangle Jr Fuzzies, which also collect dust.)
I just put the wet squishy in the container, close it, bounce the squishy around in the container to knock off the water a litle, and then leave the container, hole downwards so water can drain out, for a few hours until the squishy dries. The downside to this is that it takes time, so I’d clean one at a time so you have one to use while the first dries. It does, though, take fewer spoons to rinse and let dry. So far, I have noticed no stickiness from the rinsing (unlike puffer toys) and I’ve rinsed mine oodles of times now.
The quicker, higher-spoons way is to take a strip of regular sticky tape, press it over the squishy and pull the tape away, in the same way you de-lint a jacket. (Well, it’s how I de-lint my favourite jacket, anyway.) Just keep working until the tape loses its stick, and then replace with a fresh strip until the dust is cleared. This works better for really sticky dust that rinsing won’t remove, and will get you closest to the “just out of the packet” feeling of a mochi squishy. But it does require more hand movements, which is why I don’t do it often.

I’ll also say that to minimise dust, I store the mochi squishies inside the aforementioned blender sponge cases when not in use. They’re easy to toss into a bag or leave in my stim toy basket, and it helps so much in allowing them to stay cleaner. They still need regular rinsing, but it’s nowhere near as bad as just having them sit on an open shelf.
I’ll also add as a quick reminder that you should never leave a silicone squishy up against something brightly painted, inked or dyed, as the silicone absorbs colour incredibly easily. Don’t put them in the same container as a painted foam squishy, for example; always store the mochi squishies separately. I put mochi squishies in Christmas crackers last year, and a family member left her squishy in a tray with bits of coloured foil and a few erasers: now her yellow chick is covered in bright orange and red stains. I know of no way of removing these stains, so it’s better to not let it happen.
