"The light of a full moon peaks through the clouds."
The Full Moon is an event that happens every 8 in-game nights (~180 minutes) and will happen in around 55 minutes after a server's start. A full moon is required to complete the first and last steps of Race Awakening, as well as being needed to start the Soul Guitar Puzzle and the Kitsune Island i.e. the Blue Moon. The full moon has no other known purposes/uses.

Tips to find a Full Moon[]
- When first joining a server, if it is during the day, the player can ask in chat or turn their Graphics Quality down to one and go up high in the air until the ground disappears and look at the moon to see if it is a full moon.
- The player can also use a private server to search for full moon (make sure there are no players in it before joining) and wait around two nights.
The Moon Cycle[]
Because the game takes place in the Southern Hemisphere, Blox Fruits moon follows an inverted moon cycle.
The moon changes from phase to phase every time change. After a full moon, during the day, the moon will be a Waning Gibbous. Then, when the moon rises again, it will be a Third Quarter. This is what it need to find a full moon.
The best way to find a full moon is to server hop and look for either a First Quarter moon or Waxing Gibbous. These moons require only 15 minute waits until the next full moon, and it also gives the player time to prepare a group to find Mirage Island, get to the Temple of Time for the trials, find the Kitsune Island, or get to Haunted Castle for the Soul Guitar Puzzle.
The most reliable way of finding a full moon is through a private server, as the first full moon will always happen in around 55 minutes since the server started, with the first moon phase being a First Quarter. Therefore, the owner of the private server can just shut it down after every first full moon, guaranteeing one every 55 minutes.
As of Update 22, the full moon is required to find Kitsune Island. In order to spawn it, the player need to go to Sea Danger Level 6 BEFORE the full moon starts. Make sure the full moon starts when there are no sea events active and in Sea Danger Level 6, and then the Kitsune Island will spawn (except Rough Sea and maybe a few others). The island can also be spawned by being in Sea Danger Level 5 and Sea Danger Level 6 briefly after the full moon begins. It is recommended to do this within the first 5 seconds of a full moon.
Trivia[]
- To this day, the announcements of the full moon happen all seas, including the First Sea and Second Sea. This doesn't have much purpose in the first two seas though, as every single event related to the full moon takes place in the Third Sea.
- The full moon used to be required to obtain the Blue Gear.
- Directly after a full moon ends, it takes about 160-192 minutes to get another one. This is entirely for reference, though.
- Once the server starts, Moon will be set to First Quarter
