This post is all about the best personal development books for the 75 hard challenge or 75 soft challenge.
The Best Personal Development books for your journey on the 75 Hard Challenge or 75 Soft Challenge
1. The Power of Now By Eckhart Tolle
Starting off strong with my personal all-time favorite book, The Power of Now By Eckhart Tolle.
This book rattled me in all the best ways and achieved its goal of encouraging the reader to trust deeply in each present moment that is gifted to us.
That was somewhat of a spoiler, but the title spoils the synopsis of the book as well. The answer to so many of our qualms with life resides in harnessing the power of now or the present moment. We always have the power to refocus our attention on the present moment and deal with things as they arise.
I can’t do Eckhart Tolle’s work justice so you’ll just have to read the book to get the full scoop on how to achieve mindfulness through life’s toughest moments!
If you read the book and try to apply his teachings when possible I can pretty much guarantee your life will be changed.
2. Big Magic By Elizabeth Gilbert
If you are a creative and haven’t read this book then what are you doing?! Kidding, but really, run to your local library and check this book out!
Even if you don’t deem yourself as a creative, we all have a part of us deep down that craves more fulfillment in our lives. This book encourages readers to confidently go for what they want, not hold themselves back and stay hopeful for what is to come when you bet on yourself.
Truly it is a must read and I hope you get the same fiery motivation after reading it that I got!
3. Atomic Habits By James Clear

This book has been wildly popular and for good reason. It is a good mix of a memoir and specific examples of steps you can take to maintain habits and reach your goals.
There is a big emphasis in the book about the importance of small improvements every day and how that leads to big changes over time.
I think this concept is HUGE when on the 75 hard challenge or the 75 soft challenge. Both of the challenges are intense in their own ways and looking at the mountain of 75 days is overwhelming.
Something I found really helpful while on the challenge was to take it one meal at a time, one workout at a time, and overall one day at a time.
Even if you are halfway through the challenge and feel like you have a good grasp on your habits, I still feel like this book has helpful info anyone could use!

4. I Will Teach You to Be Rich Ramit Sethi
For full transparency, I have never read this book. Ha!
But I did watch Ramit’s Netflix show, listened to his podcast, and watched his Youtube videos about personal finance. Because of this, I feel comfortable putting this book on the list and encouraging you to check out his work! There are countless financial advisors to choose from so why him?
I think he offers a great balance of realistic financial advice showcasing real people’s finances while encouraging his clients to shoot for the moon and build the life of their dreams.
There are no gimmicks with his messaging. It seems as though his whole mission is encouraging people to define what their “fulfilled life” looks like and then gives them steps to achieve that. His recommendations are modern and realistic with today’s economy.
Sometimes as we embark on “glow-ups” and physical challenges to shift our bodies we can forget that financial wellness is a HUGE part of our mental health and overall success.
5. Eat Pray Love Elizabeth Gilbert
Ms. Gilbert deserves another slot on this list because A. her writing is just incredible and B. she knows how to create art that encourages self reflection and self growth in a way that not many others can top.

Eat Pray Love is the story of a woman with a broken heart who travels around the world to do just what the title implies: to eat good food, learn about prayer and meditation, and fall in love internally and possibly externally.
It is a fun, cute story that one can envy but it is also a road map to the courage it takes to reflect on your life, assess how things are going, and make drastic changes when necessary.

6. The Secret Rhonda Byrne
This was one of the first books I read when I ran into the world of personal development. As a teen I didn’t have the discernment I do now and the teachings of this book can seem magical more so than practical at times. But because it was so influential at the start of my personal development journey, I still felt it deserved a spot on this list.
Whether you call it manifesting or positive thinking there is something to be said for defining your goals, knowing you are worthy of achieving them, and trusting in the powers that be that they will come to you in due time.
This book deserves the hype and you can gain a lot from the teachings presented but I would proceed with caution and use discernment to not get swept up in the magic of manifestation. Since you are embarking on the 75 Hard or 75 Soft challenge you know the power of hard work as well!
