Disney characters are iconic, and this article will present you with a list of Disney characters in Spanish so you can talk about your favorites with your friends and family in another language!

Disney characters are recognized worldwide. Some regions have different names for the characters thanks to older translations. For example, in Latin American and Spain, older generations may still refer to Mickey Mouse as el Ratón Miguelito (in Mexico) or Miguelín (in Spain). These were the official names for Mickey Mouse during the 50s and 60s in Spanish-speaking countries.

As you explore the list of Disney characters below, it’s organized in chronological order, with Disney feature films divided into the following ages and eras:

  • Mickey Mouse and His Friends
  • The Golden Age (1937-1942)
  • The Wartime Era (1943-1949)
  • The Silver Age (1950-1959)
  • The Bronze Age (1970-1988)
  • The Disney Renaissance (1989-1999)
  • Post Renaissance Era (2000-2009)
  • The Revival Era (2010-Present)

In this article, I will try to give you the most complete list of Disney character names in Spanish—but some movies are overlooked in which the names of the characters are the same in English and Spanish.

The Complete List of Disney Characters in Spanish

Mickey Mouse And His Friends

The first Disney movie dubbed in Spanish was “The Three Little Pigs,” a Silly Symphony short that premiered in the 1930s and dubbed to Spanish in France in 1933. Since then, Walt Disney Company shorts, movies, and cartoons were Spanish dubbed in different places like Mexico and Argentina, and later in Burbank, California, where most of the oldest Disney cartoons were translated and dubbed for Latin America and Spain.

Thanks to these Spanish dubs, Mickey Mouse and company became really popular outside the United States, and in Latin America and Spain, certain characters’ names were “translated” to Spanish, to make them easier to remember.

Here are the names of Mickey Mouse and his friends and how they were known in Latin America and Spain for a while:
